July 2012

Here are some family pictures from July 2012...

After t-ball and lunch one day, while the girls were napping, I was in cleaning the kitchen and I noticed that Brendan was being pretty quiet.  I peeked into the living room and this is what I found.  Brendan never naps anymore (unless we're in the car), so I figured he was either completely exhausted or coming down with something.  He came down with a pinkeye-like reaction to the t-ball field material about two hours later.  Figures.

Emily is now 2 1/2 months.  Where has the time gone?!

Emily has started batting at the toys on her rocking chair.  She's pretty content to sit there, hit at her toys, and kick her legs, as long as I'm within her seeing distance.

Cousin Marci with Emily.

Cousin Alyssa, Aunt Jill and Uncle Chuck with Emily.

Unlike Brendan and Megan, Emily does not like the baby swing, and we've hardly had her in it at all.  This is the one and only time she fell asleep for her nap in it.

Now that's tired! (And it contradicts what I said above about him not napping anymore...but this is the complete exhaustion end of the spectrum here.)

Snack time!  The kids helped me pick kohlrabi and green beans in the garden and had that for snack.

Megan had a creative dance class once a week for five weeks.  Above, she's hanging out with her friend Emmalyn before class begins.

Megan, outside the dance studio at her first class.

I was working in the office and I heard Brendan giggling.  Then he burst into the office, exclaiming, "Look, Mom!  I look just like Dad!"  (He's wearing Brad's athletic shorts (he put the pull-string around his neck to hold them up), shirt, and socks (that went past his knees))  We all had a good laugh.  (And it serves as yet another reminder to not leave the clean laundry out on the couch!)

Brendan's last day of t-ball was a water-fight day.  The coaches all had water guns and water balloons and they ran around getting all the players wet.  Brendan was pretty shy about it at first, but after awhile he was in there laughing and getting soaked too.

Above, Brendan hung out with one of his friends, Justin, at the water fights (Brendan's in the red shorts, Justin is in the green "99" shirt)  They had a really good time.

After about an hour, Emily got cranky and wanted to nurse, so I loaded all of our stuff and the girls into the Jeep.  When Brendan was done with the water-fights he jumped into the jeep and stripped down to change into the dry clothes I brought along for him.  Mid-changing, Justin and his mom walked by the Jeep on the way to their vehicle.  A naked Brendan starts pounding on the window, screaming "Bye Justin!" and waving. Luckily, neither seemed to be bothered by seeing a naked Brendan, and after I stopped laughing, we had a quick discussion about not showing everyone our naked body parts.  Oh, to be five again!
