Brendan's 5th Birthday!

We celebrated Brendan's 5th birthday (on his actual birthday) at home with just our immediate family.  He had celebrated his birthday several times during the month (at the cabin with my family, after Emily's Baptism with Brad's family, the night before with Gene and Mary at the After Five Supper Club followed by blueberry pie, and finally with us.)  We had muffins and sausage for breakfast (his favorite breakfast) and a supper of pesto pasta, peas and watermelon (his favorite supper.)  We spread out his gift opening (one in the morning and the last couple when Brad got home from work.)  It's so cliche, but I can't believe he's already five!

We just can't wait...so here's a gift to play with all day!

New construction vehicles!

During the girls' nap time Brendan and I played construction.  I made up a container of dried beans to be his construction material, and we scooped and dug and pushed and hauled for much of the afternoon.

Dad's home!  Now for opening the other gifts!

Brendan also got a bow-and-arrow set, a guitar strap, and spy equipment.  Happy Birthday, Brendan!
