Twins Game

As a belated eighth wedding anniversary outing, Brad and I went to the Twins/Tigers game and received tickets for the Champions Club.  Oh.  My.  Goodness.  Can you say "extravagant?"  Valet parking (even for a minivan?)  Check!  20-course buffet dinner with open bar included?  Check!  Any possible game snack you could think of, all on the house?  Check!  Beverage orders taken for you from the comfort of your plush leather seat?  Check!  Access to watching the Twins' batting cages?  Check!  We tried to not be those people who walk around with stars in their eyes and a goofy grin on their faces...but I'm pretty confident that we failed.  The food we ate was amazing...prime rib, turkey tenderloins, Burundi over risotto (my personal favorite), the best chicken soft tacos Brad and I have ever eaten, ravioli, a huge antipasto bar, a huge salad bar, a huge dips bar...I tried to take only tiny parts of each thing I wanted, but my plate still piled up faster than I thought possible.  Delicious!  Then we wandered around and watched the batting cages for awhile, grabbed a snack for the game, and headed to our seats.  My mom and sister, Lauren, were at the game too, so we looked around for them and actually saw them from our seats.  Pretty funny.  The game was good, the experience was great, but the time with Brad was the absolute best.  Getting to spend time with my best friend and getting to focus on just each other and the experience was the best anniversary gift I could have gotten.

We're almost there!  (A huge thank you to Jill and Chuck for watching three additional children so we could relax and enjoy ourselves!)

Trying out our game seats.

A friendly waitress offered to take our picture as we were checking out our seating area.  Needless to say, we had great seats!

The Twins' batting cages.

The players trickling from the locker room to the game.

The view from our seats.

The Twins' dugout.

Cabrera, warming up (this was just before he won the Triple Crown.)

We had to get a couple pictures of Joe Mauer for Brendan.

The Minneapolis skyline from the field.  The American flag was at half-mast because of the Minneapolis sign-making employee shooting the previous week.

Brad's view, during the game.

Lauren and my mom, texting during the game.  I had to use the zoom on my camera, but we could see them from our seats.  Small world.

Hi gals!  I walked over and talked to them before the game started, but after a few minutes an usher came over and I headed back to my seat.
