Weekend in Sartell
We had a fun-filled and very busy weekend in Sartell. We drove to Sartell after Brad got home from work on Friday, unpacked at Jason and Tami's, had a late supper at Subway (Think 8:45pm-ish. We were all pretty darn hungry. "Mmmmmm," Brendan said, as we got out of the car, "That supper smells delicious!"), then went and looked at some bunk beds for Brendan. (Our plan is to put both kids in the larger bedroom, giving the smaller bedroom to the baby.) Then we headed back to Jason and Tami's and went to bed. On Saturday, Jason and Brad headed up to the cabin for some raking and winterizing (and a little pheasant hunting along the way!) and Tami and I took the kids to an ECFE Halloween party at Marni's school. We had a great time...the kids got lots of treats, did a little trick-or-treating, colored pumpkins, had a catered breakfast, played in the open gym, and went on a hay ride. Then we headed back to Jason and Tami's for some more playing, some lunch, and a nap for the little ones. The older two did artwork, played puzzles, and when Megan and Reese woke up, we headed across the street to the park, where they played like crazy. We then had a great supper, played some more, then had popcorn and watched The Great Pumpkin, and the kids headed to bed. After the kids were asleep, Tami and I watched some tv and chatted until the guys got home. We helped unpack the vehicle and heard all of the stories (shooting a pheasant, almost starting a huge pile of leaves on fire, Brad almost poking his eye out with a pliers, etc.) ate some snacks and headed to bed. Sunday was a little harder on the kids, who were pretty worn out by this time. We had a more low-key day with mostly playing, artwork, eating, and the Vikings game. Jason and Brad picked up the bunk beds during half-time. On our way home from Sartell we stopped in to see some close college friends (Joe and Jill Amsberry and little Eli) who had recently moved to the Sartell area and are only about five minutes from Jason and Tami. We meant to only stop in and bug them for a few minutes, but that turned into almost 1 1/2 hours...which flew by because we hadn't gotten to see them for so long. Then we headed home. What a weekend!

Brendan, trying to jump rope, in open gym. His favorite activity was when we got our hands on one of the scooters and I pulled the kids around.
Megan was feeling a little overwhelmed at the Halloween party, and spent most of it clinging to me. During the open gym she just wanted to watch everyone, so I sat down in a corner, she plopped down on my lap, and we watched the fun.
