On Sunday (Happy Father's Day Brad, Dad, Gene, and all you dads out there!) we headed to Willmar to celebrate Reese's 3rd Birthday. After a much-needed Menards run, we dodged the downpour and headed to a park to grill, play and celebrate. It started out windy, rainy and cool, but ended up clearing up and being a pretty nice afternoon. Emily napped for the entire thing, so we all took turns listening for her and I got to join in the fun at the park too.
Two frustrated kids (that we wouldn't let them out of the car because it was raining and everyone was deciding if we were still going to grill or not.)
Jason and Gene cooking the hot dogs over the portable grill, with Reese and Brad giving pointers.
The birthday girl. Happy 3rd birthday, Reese!
Megan really enjoyed the chocolate cupcake and ice cream...as is evident on her mouth and nose!
Marni really enjoyed the cupcake too!
After cupcakes, Reese opened her gifts. Above, Megan was so excited about Reese opening our gifts that she tried to "help." We got her to back away a bit and Reese opened our gift of Vet Barbie, which Megan had picked out for her.
Above, Marni was showing Megan and Reese how to use the little animal vet clinic she got from Grandma and Grandpa. (Can you tell Megan thought it was pretty neat?)
At this point it had warmed up enough to venture outside. The kids played on the playground, went down the twirly slide all together as a train several times (so cute!), Marni and Brendan played some t-ball and Brendan broke in Reese's new tennis racket with Brad and Jason. What started as a pretty gloomy day turned out perfectly, and we had a blast celebrating Reese's 3rd birthday with her!
