Here are some family pictures from September 2011...
Brendan loves playing "corn and beans." We get out the picnic blanket, his tractors and the Lincoln Logs and set up a farm. We have a container of dried corn and soybeans that he uses to plant and harvest. It's so much fun to see how his first just pushing of a tractor around has developed into having an animal pen, tractor storage and farmhouse.

The kitchen set and play food that we got the kids for Christmas gets lots of use. We play restaurant almost every other day. The kids love to take turns being the cook and being the customer.
Gene and Mary found Brad's old trumpet (he played until he was a freshman.) After awhile Brad tore it out of Brendan's delighted grasp and regaled us with some "Happy Birthday" and scales. Then Brendan demanded it back. :)
Brad turned 31! We had pizza and chicken wings and invited Gene and Mary over. Brendan is a mini-Brad and was so excited about Brad's gift that he had to tell him what it was before he opened it. Then we had chocolate cake and homemade whipped cream. A low-key birthday for a low-key hubby. Happy Birthday!

vacuuming the gutters. (We're hoping to re-do the house exterior in the next year. Just an FYI in case you think we don't notice the peeling paint on the gutters and siding!)
My kids love vacuuming too! This mini shop-vac kept them entertained the whole time Brad was vacuuming the gutters.
Brendan had homework for Explorers (pre-preschool) and got to take the backpack home. He was delighted and we did the homework over at least three times because he was so excited (who are we to squelch excitement for homework?) Above, he's headed back to school with the backpack.
