This is on our way to our picnic at the dam. Megan hadn't napped yet and, as you can see, looked slightly dazed the whole way there. Little Miss Grumpy Face...but you've gotta love the sunglasses she insists on wearing and puts on the top of her head.

Koosmann Family Fun Day
The Saturday before Labor Day we decided we wanted to do something fun as a family, so we quickly planned a family fun day. Here is some of our fun...

This is on our way to our picnic at the dam. Megan hadn't napped yet and, as you can see, looked slightly dazed the whole way there. Little Miss Grumpy Face...but you've gotta love the sunglasses she insists on wearing and puts on the top of her head.
Brendan was excited to go to the dam again.
Brad and Megan watching the dam. The water was WAY down from the last time we were there. Earlier this year the rushing water reached the bottom of the cement jut-outs on the dam, and it covered the top of the rocks.
The kids, eating their sandwiches, chips and fruit on the little picnic table we brought.
Brad and Brendan throwing rocks (this could easily keep them busy for hours!)
On a frog hunt!
Megan and I, searching for frogs.
We ended up finding four large toads, and Megan loved watching them (and occasionally touching them) in the bucket.
Brendan, letting the toads go.
After the dam we headed to Medieval Madness Mini-Golf to try out their 2-person go-carts (which we had been intending to do since Brendan's birthday in July). We hadn't ever been to Medieval Madness, and we LOVED it! Above, Brendan tried his head at being a king's fool.
Megan's turn at being a king's fool.
Brad and Brendan on the two-person go-cart. They only had one working, and Megan was too young to go, so Brad and I each took a turn with Brendan.
Brendan and I. I was feeling slightly queasy that day, so I wasn't up for going full speed, but after a couple of turns Brendan yelled, "MOM! Why are you going so SLOW?!?!" Well, I couldn't be known as the slow one, so full speed we went. And I didn't even run into the sideline tires...not even once!
After go-carting (and a bit of whining from Brendan) we decided to give mini-golf a try. Here is Brendan's first shot playing mini-golf.
Brad, playing mini-golf.
Megan had her own plastic club and soft ball, which she played with for the first two holes. After that, she decided she wanted to play the part of spectator.
Megan was enthralled with the lifting gate on one of the castle holes. She stood like this for quite awhile, watching it go up and down.
One of Brendan's favorite holes. You put the ball in and hit it, then watch it peg-board down into a hole and you get that number of points. I think Brendan played this hole about five times.
We put Megan to work as the scorekeeper.
This is the hole that Brendan got a hole-in-one. It's one of the hardest holes...we couldn't believe it!
This is Brendan's favorite hole. You played up on a deck, and when you got the ball in the hole it rolled through piles underneath and dinged a bell when it dropped. He loved it!
