Visit to Sartell/Reese's 1st Birthday

After a long few days in the cities we headed to Sartell to stay with Jason and Tami and celebrate Reese's first birthday with the family. On Saturday we headed downtown Sartell to watch the city's parade. It was cool and rainy, but the guys found us a great spot under a large tree, and the kids (young and old) had a great time watching all that passed us by. On Sunday we celebrated Reese's birthday. We had a great lunch, Reese opened her gifts, and we went swimming. Jason also got to play hero as he jumped into the pool, clothes and all, to grab his nephew, who had lost his footing and slipped underwater. Way to be watchful, Jason!

Megan enjoyed the time before the parade started in her umbrella stroller. She spent most of the time playing with her toys, but she was definately interested in the commotion all around her.

One of the neatest "floats" that passed by was actually a hot air balloon basket and burning attachment. It was really neat to see how it works up close, and how incredibly powerful those flames were.

Noelle and Megan.

Brad and Megan, keeping each other warm.

Brendan and Marni loved the marching bands. Aunt Tami helped show them how to march in place on the sidewalk.

Marni kept all her candy in a baseball cap. She was pretty happy with all that she collected!

Brendan showing me his candy stash.

...and she's out. (Drool and all! Sooooo like her mama...dead to the world!)

The healing bite mark Brendan gave Megan, from during my grandpa's funeral (on her left arm right above the elbow.) I could've cried I was so upset....Brendan's not a biter....and right in the middle of my grandpa's eulogy....ugh!

The birthday girl! Reese at 1 year old.

Brendan on a high perch to check out the gift opening without getting in the way. He was helping his Dad take pictures.

Reese in her new rocking chair. So cute!

All the commotion!

Playing in the pool. (That huge, gorgeous house across the street, next to the yellow house is Jason and Tami's new house!)

Even though the water was crazy cold, the kids still wanted to go swimming. Who really wants to stop that? So in they went! Brendan loved Marni's fish net, and played with that most of the time he was in the water.

Megan spending some time with Grandpa, as Gene was nice enough to hold onto her for me so I could play a little too!

Jason "the hero". He kept an eye on all the kids, and wasn't afraid to get wet when necessary. What a guy!
