Como Zoo and ComoTown

The day after my grandpa's funeral my family and I decided to shine some light on the dark and emotional days that had come before. We headed to Como Zoo and ComoTown (thanks to some free passes from a co-worker of Liz's) We had a blast! The kids were great, the weather stayed clear long enough for us to get through the zoo and the amusement park, and Papa even bought Brendan a gorilla souvenir. All-in-all, a nice ending to our trip to the cities.

My family getting ready to enter the zoo. Brendan LOVES pushing the stroller, but we've learned that some parent overseeing is absolutely necessary.

Megan checking out the monkeys in the primate building.

Nona and Brendan watching the monkeys swing around their enclosure.

Two gorillas...one mommy-gorilla sized, one kid-sized.

Brendan watching a polar bear.

Brad and Brendan watching the penguins.

Megan and her God-Zizi, Cathy.

Brendan and Zizi Liz, checking out all the fish in the aquarium.

Brendan and I driving the train. (Okay, not really driving, but he thought we were.)

Brendan's first solo adventure on the Aladdin ride.

Brendan's second solo adventure on the cars.

Auntie Dooney, Zizi Cathy and Megan waiting while we go on rides.

Brendan and I on the bumper cars. You can't really tell, but my knees were practically up to my face I was squished in there so tight! Brendan LOVED the bumper cars. He giggled the entire time we were in there.

Brad and Brendan on the train.

The fire-fighter ride. This was so neat...he actually got to spray water out at the "burning" building. He would have done this ride all day, if we had let him.

Papa and Brendan on the train ride (as you can tell, the train ride was another favorite of Brendan's...and he always had to be driving it, not riding on it.)

Tired little Megan, snoozing in Zizi Cathy's arms.

Brendan watching the outside gorillas, holding tightly to the gorilla souvenir that Papa bought him (the machine actually made the plastic toy right in front of him...pretty cool!)

Brendan and Brad on the way out of the zoo. What a fun day!
