Reading, Playing, Tennis and Trees

Brad and Brendan decided to take a break from playing and do some reading. (Yes, even Brad! He was reading The Shack for those who don't have eagle eyesight.)

Brendan enjoying his book.

Brendan and I were playing hide-and-seek one day and he ran to hide. Usually he's pretty easy to find, either he's in one of his regular spots or he giggles like crazy when he hears me coming. But this time I couldn't find him right away. And he wasn't giggling. I did about two quick sweeps of the house and then made my way to the entryway to make sure he wasn't on his way to the basement. As I was passing the jacket wardrobe I heard a tiny thump and a giggle. As I got close he threw open the doors and yelled "Boo!" I laughed so hard I almost fell down. So I grabbed my camera and had him do a quick reinactment.

These two pictures are of Brendan "napping" on the kitchen floor while I was doing dishes.

Brendan has discovered tennis, and LOVES to play. I found him a kid-sized racket at a garage sale and we hit the ball around inside for long stretches of time.

The other day some tree trimmers came out to the house and trimmed all the trees in our yard (and there are lots...it took most of the day.) Brendan ran from window to window watching the chainsaws and the big truck with the bucket that lifts the guys high into the trees (sorry...I don't know the name of the darn thing.) If you look closely you can see the large branch mid-fall, and the guy standing on top of the bucket with his chainsaw. Lots of excitement for a little guy!
