A Beautiful Day For A Picnic

Brad suggested we picnic at the playground during his lunch hour today, so off we went. The weather was beautiful and the gnats stayed mostly at bay. We ate lunch, Brendan played at the playground, I fed a hungry Megan (sweet potatoes and oatmeal), Megan had her first experience with grass, and Brad and Brendan played kickball. What a great lunch hour! Many more like this will follow this summer, I'm sure.

Squinty-eyed Brad and Brendan stop eating for a quick smile.

Megan was tucked away in her stroller with a bug net over it. She had fun playing with her hanging toys while we ate.

Brad and I are learning the extreme importance of letting Brendan wander and play without following him everywhere. He's growing up so fast!

Brendan loved going down the regular slides and the tornado slide.

Megan and I did some light swinging (I forgot how tricky it can be holding tightly to two swing chains while grasping an infant!)

Megan's first experience with grass. She kept picking up pieces of grass and examining them, then putting it down and picking up others to examine.

Brendan and Brad enjoyed a quick game of kickball before Brad had to head back to work.
