We enjoyed our annual hotel weekend with the Koosmann family. The kids were excited about it for weeks ahead of time, and the weekend didn't dissapoint. We stayed at the Holiday Inn & Suites in St. Cloud and they had an amazing kids area that got plenty of use. We swam, they hot-tubbed (Megan doesn't like the hottub, and I can't go in, thanks to being seven months pregnant), I got to nap with Megan, we ate and celebrated Alyssa and Gene's birthdays, and we played, played, played. Megan only lasted about a half hour at a time swimming and then she'd want to warm up in the bathtub, but Brendan has discovered (at last) a love of swimming and he spent hours on end going from the regular pool to the hottub (with Dad in tow) and would jump into the pool over and over again. We're going to have a blast at the cabins this summer! As always, the weekend went by too quickly, and now we're just looking forward to next year (although Brad and I will be outnumbered next year...so we'll see how that goes!)

We're checking out the kids areas. They had an arcade, a huge playset, basketball courts, additional kids pools, ping pong, and lots of activities (like face-painting and coloring).

Charlie (left) and Brendan (right) "playing" on the motorcycles. I don't look forward to the day they realize you can put in money and actually play the motorcycle game...for now they're content thinking they're playing the demo. Lets just say they visited these motorcycles a lot that weekend.

Marni (left) and Marci and Reese (right) get a turn on the motorcycles, under the watchful eye of Grandma. On the far left, Brendan has moved on to the car game, which he liked even more.

Reese (left) and Megan (right) playing on the playset and in the playhouse.

The kids, picking their face-painting designs and waiting for their turns. (L->r: Charlie, Alyssa, Megan, Marci, Marni and Reese.)

Eating and celebrating Alyssa's 9th Birthday.

More swimming. (Brendan, in front in the blue life jacket, and Marni, the super-swimmer, in back, up to her neck in the water.)

Brad and I took the kids to the basketball court area to burn off some energy. Brendan's starting to get the hang of rebounds and proper shooting form (thanks to a dedicated Dad...Mom doesn't really have the know-how or patience!), although shooting at a regular hoop is different than our back-of-the-door mini-hoop we've been using all winter. And Megan had to get in on the action too. She and I basically just threw the ball back and forth to each other.

Brendan, all ready to go swimming. (Thanks for the suit and swim shirt, Zizzi Cathy! He
loves it, and runs around yelling "Surf Life!" as we're getting ready.)

Megan, showing her butterfly face-painting, which she picked all by herself.

Brendan had too much energy to sit still for a picture, but I got this one of his MN Twins and baseball face-painting, which he also picked all by himself.
