Valentine's Day 2011

Happy Valentines Day! We started off the day with a new tradition of having the kids' valentines from their cousins, grandparents, and us, and a small gift from Brad and I set at their spot at the dining room table (I grew up with this same tradition, and we all loved it!) The kids were overjoyed to wake up to such a treat. They also each got a Little Debbie valentine cookie from Papa and Nona as their afternoon snack. Then, Brendan helped me set the table with our china and I made a special Valentines dinner for Brad. We had artichoke spinach crab dip for an appetizer, a mixed veggie salad and Pad See Yew for the main course, and butterscotch dessert (one of Brad's favorites from growing up) as a late dessert. What a blessed Valentines Day!

Megan got her own cell phone. You can record a phrase on it, so Megan especially enjoyed hearing her daddy say hello to her.

Brendan got a new snake (his last one, unfortunately, lost it's head) from us, and a squishy frog from Alyssa. Brad and Brendan enjoyed a round of snake vs. frog at the table before Brad had to get ready for work.

The family, digging into the salad course of our Valentines Day dinner (accompanied by the ever high-brow drink of Sun Drop in a wine glass for the adults!)

Smile! The Pad See Yew (Thai noodles, chicken, broccoli and eggs in a sweet/salty oyster sauce...another of Brad's favorites) is served!

...and Brendan's favorite part of the night...blowing out the candles!! (Which he had been begging to do since we lit them earlier in the evening.)
