The Final Vikings Game

Brad's co-worker, Lori, did one of the sweetest things imaginable at our Montevideo Benefit...she purchased the four-pack of Vikings tickets that Brendan had been out-bid on in the silent auction and gave them to him.  In the three weeks between the benefit and the game (with the exception of Christmas) it has been Vikings talk non-stop in our home.  Brendan would frequently wake up in the middle of the night, call Brad or I into his room, and ask us to confirm how many days there were until the game (Sheesh, Thanks, Lori...just kidding!)  We have loved watching his excitement build as the day got closer.  He hemmed and hawed over who to bring with (finally determining that Brad, Uncle Jason, Uncle Chuck, and he would go) and oh, so cutely helped me get his Vikings clothes ready for the big day.

The Sunday game was the last one in the Metrodome, which made it even more special.  The boys got to the Dome early, found their seats, and watched the festivities.  Brendan soaked in everything that happened at the game, surprising me several times in the days since when he has talked about the speeches that took place before the game and even mimicking the players' celebratory dance moves.

Brendan enjoyed the time with his uncles and dad, snacked on popcorn and nachos, and (according to Brad) got pretty into the game.  It was such an amazing gift...one that will be remembered forever.

 The Final Game!

Popcorn!  (I was informed that this picture was taken specifically for Grandpa, as Grandpa loves popcorn!)

During the game.  As you can see, it was packed!
