We love decorating for Christmas around here...and putting up the tree is the best part!

Each of the kids has their own little tree they can decorate. They especially love adding their individual ornaments.
One of the things I worked on this year is making a Family Advent Sock Calendar. Each of the socks has a date on it and is stuffed with a card that lists a family holiday activity for us to do together. It could be as simple as reading about Jesus' birth or as involved as decorating Brad's office. I had to go through the socks twice to be able to do an activity each day in December (I hadn't really given much thought to how much space 25 socks would take up!) and it's pretty Christmasy-looking in our dining area, but it's only once a year, right?
There's just something about turning down the house lights, turning on the tree lights, and cuddling up on the couch. Now it feels like Christmas!
