October 2013

Here are some family pictures from October 2013...

There's a little cubby under the kids' playset that they love to play restaurant in.  They used it so much it started getting muddy under there, so I loaded up some pea-rock and layered a little on the ground.  The girls love playing in there as we wait for Brendan's bus in the afternoons.

What's better than a big box to play in?  And they all fit!

 Megan, reading to her baby.

We enjoy going to the Montevideo Fire Department Open House and Fundraiser every year, and this year was no exception.  We had a supper of hamburgers/hot dogs and then the kids played on the fire trucks.  Above is a rare shot of all three (and they're even all looking!)

Look who's driving the fire truck!

Megan, dutifully working on the jewelry box Auntie Dooney gave her for her birthday.

Emily loves being included in coloring, although she really isn't too interested in the "coloring" part of coloring yet...she just enjoys getting into her art shirt and sorting through the box of crayons.

It's exercise video time! (Don't mind the perpetual pile of unfolded laundry on the loveseat!)  Emily was really getting into it this time, which was cute and very funny.

Brendan can't get enough of Grandma and Grandpa's Wii (I just want to grab him through the picture and pull him back about ten feet!)  He hops around so much while he's playing that keeping him back from the tv is a little like trying to catch a fish that's flopping around in the bottom of your boat.  Emily was holding the other controller and pretending to play too.

If Brendan could be a superhero, I think he would be Mr. Wii!

We were in Madison to help make some pork sausage.  Gene got me a bottled Sun Drop (*sigh* one of those infrequent vices that I'm having a hard time giving up) and Brad "shared" it with me.

Emily really liked helping out with the flattening of the packaged pork sausage.

This picture very much captures a little bit of Miss Emily's fiestiness.

Hi Mary!
(For those of you who can't tell, I don't think that's a true *smile* smile...more of a don't you dare put this on your blog! smile.  But I love you, Mary, so you're on here!

Megan was gifted with this beautiful dress from Amy, a co-worker of Brad's (well, actually Amy's daughter) and she just loved it!

The favorite part of a new dress?  The twirling!

My little goof.

Emily had to get in on the twirling too!  (Again, with the pile of unfolded laundry...seriously, Noelle.)

Emily's hammy smile.  We'll be talking around the table and she'll just pull this out.  It's really hard not to burst out laughing (and we often do...which is probably why she does it!)

Sisterly love!

Gene and Mary came over to Montevideo and we went out to Jake's Pizza for Mary's birthday.  Happy Birthday, Mary!

Blowing out the candles on Grandma's pumpkin coffee cake birthday cake.

 Emily, enjoying some popcorn.

Popcorn and movie night!
