Brendan's First Class Trip

Brendan had his first kindergarten field trip on Megan's birthday, so the girls and I headed to the Montevideo Fire Department and Police Station to "help out" (as much as you can help out while bringing two kids along!)  This field trip was the closing of fire safety week, and as a parent, I really appreciated the thought the fire and police departments put into having our children there.  The kids got to climb all around the fire trucks and they listened to a presentation from the fire department.  They even got to see and hear what a fully-dressed and air-tanked fireman looked and sounded like.  In the police station, the kids were shown around and they got to climb into the police cruiser (hopefully the last time any of them will see the inside of it!)  Thank you to the men and women who put their lives on the line to keep us safe!

Megan, our now-four-year-old, is excited to be included in the field trip!

Waiting in line to explore in the fire trucks (Brendan is in the blue and gray ahead of me.)
