January 2013

Here are some family pictures from January 2013...

Brad and the kids wanted to try out Brad's new head flashlight (a Christmas gift, for ice fishing), so we turned off all the lights and they read books by flashlight.

I filled the water-table with snow for the kids, and they went crazy.

Emily's first experience with snow...

...and where did it go?  In her mouth, of course!

Megan obviously got a little bored while Brendan and I were playing chess one afternoon.  I turned around and saw this!

Emily is loving her solids!  I can't believe how well she eats.  Above, she's eating a homemade blueberry muffin, but if you put both something sweet and something savory on her tray, she goes for the savory every time.  Gets it from Brad.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Megan, because, not only is she a little cutie, but she is dressed exactly how she is every day...princess dress over her clothes.

Brendan with one of his block fortresses.

An early morning (early, early, early) pic of the kids.

Brendan and his buddy, Kingston, at pre-school.

Megan had her first dentist appointment and sailed right through it.  We were a little nervous, as Megan tends to clam up around people she doesn't know, but we practiced at home and she was the perfect little patient. The dentist got a chuckle from her because he asked her if he could be her dentist all of the time (a question he says he asks all of his little patients to get them to start talking to him) and he said she shot him a look and said, "Ummmm...maybe.  I don't know yet."  That's our Megs!

An early morning play session, just Mama and Emily.

Emily, reading some books.

We call her "Cheekers," because she's usually smiling, which enhances those cheekers!

My Meggers, all dressed up and ready for her solo.

A quick family picture.

Another quick family picture.

A picture with my parents.  After my diagnosis, my parents flew back from Florida early (they had been at a FMSC partner conference) and drove out to spend the day with us.  We'll take any chance to see them we can get...even if it's not for the most fun of reasons.
