Near the end of the afternoon I started feeling nauseous. Seriously nauseous. Mary (Brad's mom) came over and asked me if I was okay, and I laughingly replied that it felt like morning sickness. Her eyes kinda twinkled and I quickly assured her that I WAS NOT pregnant. Absolutely not. No way. Not until the end of next summer were we even going to talk about a baby #3. She believed me. I believed me. The pregnancy test I took when I got home, just to be funny, did NOT believe me. Holy cow. I guess I just fibbed to my mother-in-law!

Watertown Zoo
Jill was out in Madison with the kids one week and we decided to all go the the Watertown, South Dakota Bramble Park Zoo. We headed to the zoo in the morning, took a break for a picnic lunch, headed back inside for a little more zoo, then headed home for naptime. The weather was beautiful and we all had a ton of fun exploring the zoo.
Waiting for the penguin show.

The penguin show. It was mostly the penguins swimming around and the keeper throwing fish to them. But it was still fun to watch.
A profile of the kids.
A big tortoise that the kids watched for awhile.
A baby monkey (I don't remember the species.)
Grandpa and Megan, checking out the animals.
Charlie and the muntjac had a mutual fascination with each other.
Brendan and Marci, watching the peacocks that roam around.
We stopped to feed the zebra and various fowl handfuls of corn. The duck in the front of the picture was just vicious and attacked a couple of us. Charlie and Gene even got nipped on their legs. We quickly moved on to another place.
Brendan, Alyssa and Marci, nesting.
While we were checking out some more fowl and muntjac, and zookeeper came out for their feeding time. She had packages of buns and lettuce for the animals, and she kindly offered them to the kids, to let them feed the animals. All the kids had a blast throwing pieces of bun for the animals (although Megan preferred to try to eat hers!)
Still feeding the animals their bread.
Megan, communing with the huge turtle, in the indoor science building.
One of the highlights of the zoo? The play cow with the udders you could "milk" (spray out water.) The kids just couldn't get enough of it!
Brendan, riding the play elephant.
Camels.
Megan and Marci, watching the kangaroos.
...and back at the milking cow.
