The New Playset

My parents and sisters gave Brendan and Megan a new playset for their birthdays. When the set finally arrived (thanks, Cathy!) we waited a couple weeks for my dad to come out to help us start putting it together. (I know, I know, it sounds kinda lazy that we didn't do it ourselves, but it is SO much easier to set up with more than one adult helping...and, no, as much as Brendan thinks it did, his help wasn't so much helpful.) A few weeks later, Brad's dad came over to help us set it up the rest of the way. Now we have a beautiful playset in our yard that's begging for kids to play on it. I have several playdates in the works already, so hopefully we'll get some playing on this before it gets too cold. Thanks to everyone who helped! The kids love it!

Gene and Brad working diligently to set up the clubhouse over the Labor Day Weekend.

This is my amazing mother-in-law, who decided it was time to clean the screens (which I never, ever remember doing in my entire life.) We can now see clearly out our windows again! Above, she's cleaning the screen with a push-pin because of a glob of finish that the previous owners got on the screen. Anyone else have a mom-in-law that does that? I didn't think so. I'm pretty darn special...check that....she's pretty darn special!

Brendan's first ride on the swingset.

Our kids playing. Brendan had a blast...Megan was just excited to get to crawl on the grass. :)

Captain Brendan steering his playset. We're still looking for some attachable binoculars or telescope to complete the entire thing.

Brendan in the clubhouse.

Both kids playing on the swings.

Little blue eyes enjoying some time in her swing.

Brad started mowing the lawn, and the swingset was forgotten. Good to know that some things never change!

Megan still enjoying her swing...only this time she's smiling.

The finished playset, complete with covered fort, clubhouse, picnic table, slide, two swings, monkey bars, and a swinging horse-thing. Talk about a gift that will keep on giving!
