While Brad Was Gone...

Brad was in San Diego for work the first week of August, and we split up our time between Gene and Mary's (where the Nelson's were visiting) and my mom and sister, Cathy, coming out to visit us. Brendan had a blast playing with his cousins, riding the Gator, and going swimming when we were in Madison. When my mom and sister came we went to the Chippewa County Fair, the kids played with Nona and Zizzi Cathy, and Brendan got to make strawberry jam with Nona. The week went by quickly, and we were so, so happy to have Brad back at home.

Megan is always her happiest early in the morning or when she's in her high chair eating. (She's a very happy baby most of the time, but those are the times she's happiest.) Here she is with big smiles for us right before a snack.

Megan's new funny face of choice.

Brendan making strawberry jam with Nona.

Cathy doing some kid multi-tasking.

Naptime snuggles for Brendan and Nona.

Brendan loves playing doctor, and he and Nona played it a lot during the days she was here. The cutest part about it is that he still thinks (even though I have corrected him countless times) that the heartbeat is heard on your stomach (from watching the doctor hear Megan's heartbeat when I was still pregnant.)

Brendan's first time sleeping on our floor. He was out cold for a couple hours in the early morning.

Marci, Charlie and Brendan getting some pre-swimming-at-the-local-pool swimming in. They just raced around in circles, splashing and laughing.

Brendan's first time swimming in the deeper section of the Madison public pool. He and Grandpa swam around for awhile together before Brendan got more daring and wanted to try the water slides.

Aunt Jill chatting with Megan.

Charlie, Marci and Brendan playing micro-machines together.

Megan watching all the pool action. She was very entertained by the combination of crazy swimming kids and the bucket of water that she was playing with.

Cooling off in the pool one warm afternoon.

A still-exhausted little guy crawled into bed with me again. He slept like this long after I had gotten up. What a busy week!
