Our First Twins Game at Target Stadium

My dad called with some tickets for the Twins game on August 18th, 2010. Gene and Mary offered to watch Megan, so we headed to the cities with Brendan for our first game at the new stadium. Brendan was incredibly excited...he held on tightly to his "baseball bag" and asked us question after question about the game. He slept most of the way, as he had missed his nap earlier, and woke up raring to get to the game. We had a great time, and even got to see Joe Mauer's first home run at Target Stadium (Brendan LOVES Joe Mauer...Joe's his favorite player...after his daddy.) We were a little worried about how long Brendan would last during the game, and if the people around us would be annoyed with a little kid around, but Brendan did great, and the couple behind us just loved him...the guy kept giving him peanuts all night long. He got to see his Papa, Nona, and Zizzi's, and he even got a treat that included a souvenir Twins helmet. What a great evening!

Brendan was out cold for most of the trip to the cities, yet still tightly clutching his baseball bag. He was so fast asleep that he was even drooling (a wonderful trait I must have passed on to him.)

Brendan, holding tightly to his baseball glove, more than ready to see his beloved Joe Mauer.

Feed My Starving Children was getting a large check from Thrivent at the game. Above, my dad (middle with the striped shirt and baseball cap) is having his picture taken with the head honchos from Thrivent.

Dad on the big screen. You couldn't see it too well from our seats, but it was still really exciting!

Joe Mauer hitting his first home run at Target Field. Brendan would stand up and clap like crazy whenever the crowd would cheer, and when the crowd went crazy over this hit, so did Brendan. It was so cute!
