Brendan's 3rd Birthday
We celebrated Brendan's 3rd birthday at home, and we invited Brad's cousins "Uncle" Chad and "Uncle" Cody (who celebrated their own 30th birthdays in early July), Chuck, Korinne, and Brad's parents over for a cook-out. We had grilled pork chops, grilled sweet potatoes, grilled sweet onions, sweet corn, and scalloped potatoes. For the birthday dessert we had chocolate cake with whipped cream and apple crisp. Yum! Brendan got to open gifts and then spent the rest of the evening playing with everyone...and his new wheelbarrow. We let Brendan stay up late and we celebrated our family birthday with him afterwards. I can't believe my little guy is 3. How the time flies. Happy Birthday, Brendan!
Cody specially wrapped Brendan's gift for him: ("B" (in duct tape) for "Brendan Nation", which is one of the several nicknames his "uncles" have given him.) And what was inside? A huge container of Cheese Balls...which Brendan discovered the last time he went to the farm to visit Chad and Cody. I wasn't there, but I hear that he couldn't eat them fast enough. Thanks, guys!
Grandma and Grandpa got Brendan a real, kid-sized wheelbarrow, which Brendan has been asking for, for about six months. He was ecstatic!
How many people does it take to put together a wheelbarrow? One banker Grandpa, one contractor Great-Uncle, one mail-woman Grandma, and one crazy-excited little boy!
