Jason & Tami's Cabin

We headed to Jason & Tami's cabin this past weekend for some Koosmann family time. We had been talking about it for at least a week ahead of time, and to say that Brendan was excited is an understatement.

Brendan woke up Friday morning saying "Fishing! Fishing!" and he found his life jacket in the pile of stuff that needed to be packed in the car. We had to put it on him, and he spent the next hour running around the house alternating between yelling "Fishing!" and "Cabin!" and showing us his life jacket. The only down time he gave himself was when he sat down for a minute or two to watch whatever cartoon happened to be on tv. I came out from our bedroom, ready to get him dressed, and this is what I saw...thought it was cute and needed to take a picture of it. (Yes, he's too close to the tv, but he only sat there a minute or two.)

We got to the cabin on Friday afternoon and one of the first things the kids did together was pile into Jason & Tami's boat for some exploring.
Brad and I celebrated our 5-year anniversary on Friday, so we left Brendan with Brad's family and headed to Brainerd for the evening. We shopped around awhile for a fishing rod for Brendan (didn't find anything we liked), ate at Poncho and Lefty's (fastest restaurant food service I've ever gotten) and shopped around the mall, ending up with dessert at Dairy Queen. We had a very good time just hanging out together.
Over the course of the next couple days the kids did tons of fun cabin stuff. They played and played in the sand (Brendan called it the "sandbox"), went fishing and swimming, ate fresh apples from the neighbors' tree and had a campfire.

Brendan isn't a huge fan of getting all the way in the water yet...he prefers to play on the shore or just sit with the water at about waist-level.

All the kids (and some parents) playing on the beach.

Brendan in his swimming garb, still avoiding going all the way in the water.
