Brad and I were game for letting the kids pick out what we wore as well. I ended up in a bridesmaid dress from our friends Angie and Tom's wedding and Brad was directed to wear his suit "With a tie! And smell good too!" (that was, of course, Megan.) Megan wore the dress that the flower girl wore in our wedding (Ana was kind enough to give it to Megan when she was big enough) and Emily wore the flower girl dress that Megan wore in my sister, Cathy, and Josh's wedding. Who says you don't reuse wedding clothes? :)
The girls didn't even have their eyes all the way open after nap-time before they were asking to put on their dresses and pick out their princess jewelry and crowns. They had me wear the headpiece from my wedding and a jewelry set from one of the weddings I'd been in. And they were pretty amazed that I even put on heels. (I guess this stay-at-home mom doesn't dress up enough!)
Brendan was a happy camper because he was too old for the ball and, instead, got to go with a friend and his parents to a baseball game. He had a great time playing baseball and football with the crowd of kids at the game. Thanks, Kilibarda's!
We had a wonderful time dancing, playing games, eating popcorn, and visiting with friends. Like all good balls, this one was over much too soon (no glass slippers were left behind though!)
Megan, with one of my sweet friends, Kris, who is also the Literacy teacher in Megan's classroom.
Megan, playing bean bag toss.
Emily, playing bean bag toss.
Both girls won a candy bracelet...pretty much the best prize you could ever win!
Brad, escorting the girls inside the "ballroom" during the Grand March.
Brad, with his princesses.
All of us.
Brad, groovin' with Megan.
Emily and I.
Dancing with the girls (although Megan's candy bracelet was capturing her attention at that moment!)
Our sweet girls.
Megan and Emily finished the evening by participating in a cupcake walk.
And Emily won! She chose M&M cookies and shared with her sister (like a true princess should!)
It was a great evening!
