Here are some family pictures from August 2012...
I know I'm a little crazy, but I'm just nuts about my garden...kinda like a proud mama. Here's my garden from the front view (peas, tons of green and yellow beans, eggplant, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, kohlrabi, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, carrots, beets, zucchini and yellow squash.)
The kids' garden. We planted two cherry tomato plants, some green beans, and a cucumber plant. And they're all doing great...despite the fact that Megan likes to crawl into the space between the tomato plants when we play hide and seek.
My garden from the back view (complete with homemade noisemaker.)
My beets and carrots.
My zucchini and yellow squash (with beets, carrots and tomatoes in the background.)
Tomatoes (and kohlrabi)
A sweet potato plant.
We broke out the chainsaw my dad gave us and started trimming trees. It makes me nervous to see Brad balancing on a ladder with a chain saw in his hands, but he did awesome.
Brad, cutting down the dead stump in our backyard.
This is, by far, my favorite picture. Brad was cutting away and Brendan, who was just itching to help, stood back and waited for his turn with his saw (from his play tool bench.)
The kids, trying out their new sandbox.
Brad had to try out the sandbox too...you know...for safety reasons or something. :)
My Great-Aunt Mary (who does calligraphy) made this beautiful sign for over our bed. "Always and Forever" was the phrase from our wedding invitations (and is our marriage philosophy)
