Madison Celebration

Madison, MN, where Brad grew up, had their all-school reunion and town celebration in mid-July. We headed to Madison to see some of Brad's extended family (his Aunt Janet from Michigan and cousin, Shannon, and her husband, Alan, and daughter, Delia, who were visiting from Texas.) It was blisteringly hot out, but we still went to the parade and watched the fireman water-fights.

Getting ready for the parade (l->r: Delia, Marci, Alyssa, Charlie, and Brendan in the back)

Megan, hanging out with Uncle Chuck.

Picking up candy.

Brendan and I.

Delia got to bang on the bass drum, which delighted all the kids.

Brad and Megan, watching the parade.

Our view of the parade.

The family.

I explained to Brendan that if you wave at the people in the parade who are throwing candy, they'll usually throw some right at you. He grabbed on to that idea and diligently waved to each and every person/float that went by.

Unloading some of his candy haul on Brad.

Grandma and Megan.

Brendan (eating an icee that the grocery store people handed out), and Megan, watching the end of the parade.

Alyssa, Marci, Charlie and Brendan wanted to see the water-fights, so Jill and Chuck and I headed downtown to watch them. Above, the kids are watching one of the fights.

Due to the extremely hot weather, the kids didn't mind (and even enjoyed!) getting all wet from the water-hose spray. Above, Alyssa was showing me how wet her clothes were.

Brendan, receiving a spray of water from the fight.

A soaking wet Brendan absolutely loved the water-fights and can't wait to watch them again next year.
