Early December 2009

Happy December!

Brad and Brendan putting up the Christmas tree together

We took Brendan to the Montevideo Holiday Parade one evening. It was pretty darn cold out, but the parade was pretty short, and we had a great time. Brendan got to see Santa and Mrs. Clause, lots of floats with singing and lights, and (best of all) a firetruck to end the parade.

Was something stuck up there, you ask? Nope. Just Brendan being funny (and probably stretching out his poor nostrils.)

Brendan and Megan got a gift in the mail from St. Nicholas. Brendan was very, very excited (Megan didn't seem to care as much!) :) This has become our "read it under the Christmas tree" book. Thanks, St. Nick!

Brendan decided he wanted to shave, like his Daddy. (Gotta love the bubbles just dripping down his arms. Oh...what fun to be a kid!)

My little family...snoozing away.

She gets her funky sleeping faces from me, I'm afraid.

Brendan went through a phase where he didn't want to go to sleep in his bed. Instead, he'd lay out in the hall with his pillow and pull the rug up over him as a blanket. He outgrew this in a couple weeks (with some help from mom and dad.)

Big blue eyes (We think they're staying blue! Hooray!)

Our little drummer boy. We didn't have a toy drum for Brendan and he decided he wanted one, so we made one out of an oatmeal container, a belt (for the neck strap), and wooden skewers with the ends cut off (for the drumsticks.) Brendan loves marching around with the Santa hat on and me following him snapping, singing and dancing, saying we're in a parade.
