Brendan is now 2 ½ and every day is a new adventure with him. He brings constant laughter and joy to our lives. He is a GREAT big brother and is always ready with a hug and a kiss for his little sister. Brendan did wonderful in the adjustment to the new house…in fact he still turns to us and says “This a nice house!” at least once a week! He transitioned to a toddler bed a little after he turned two, and he’s a huge help to mom when she needs things for Megan. He loves tractors, trains, cars, trucks, construction equipment…basically anything that moves and makes noise. He also likes to play sports (especially baseball, golf and tennis), play games, read, color, paint, dance, and help mom in the kitchen. Brendan has a great imagination and he constantly astonishes us in the things he hears and understands (and he makes us laugh every day with the things he tries to repeat!) He had his first real accident in late September, when he fell down the stairs and got a large gash above his right eye, requiring a trip to the ER and seven stitches. It’s been an eventful year for our little guy!
Megan is two months old, with blonde hair and big blue eyes. She has started smiling and cooing, and one of her favorite things to do is mimic mom and dad when they stick their tongues out. She’s a good sleeper (unlike big brother!) and is starting to enjoy her baths much more, now that she’s figured out how to kick the water. Megan doesn’t really cry…she roars! She definitely shows her attitude when she’s hungry…when she wants to eat, it’s unquestionably time to eat (we all agree she gets that from her mom!) But other than when she’s hungry, she’s very sweet. Megan was baptized in early December and she is very blessed to have Zizzi Cathy and Aunt Tami and Uncle Jason as Godparents, and we were very happy that our immediate families could come out and celebrate with us. Brendan and Megan have started to spend
quality tummy time together, and we’re excited to watch her grow more aware and responsive to what’s around her.
Brad continues to work at Goldleaf Financial as a surety bond underwriter, and we are thankful that he is employed with such a stable and welcoming company. In his spare time (when he’s not playing baseball with a certain 2-year-old), Brad plays softball and basketball on local teams. He feels very blessed to have such a wonderful family and is adjusting to life with two kids (and little free time!).
Noelle is continuing to experience the joy and challenges of being a stay-at-home mom of two. She continues to work as a part-time contractor for Twin Cities Orthopedics, and the combination is keeping her plenty busy, and very happy. She is active with the local chapter of MOPS and has met many great stay-at-home moms from the area. She also has been playing some volleyball and was happy to get some fishing in this past summer and a few books read here and there.
