June 2014

Here are some family pictures from June 2014...

Twenty cute little toes, with pink nail polish.  Emily was so excited to be included in this....she would take her shoes and socks off to show her "paint nails" to anyone who would look!

Auntie Jill gave the girls some dress clothes that last time we visited, and Emily couldn't wait to try them on!

Emmy and Megs in their matching outfits (we're just missing Alexa!)  Thanks, Nona!

Brendan's kindergarten class had a program for the parents during their last week of school.  They put on plays, sang songs, got their Kindergarten Memory Books, and had a snack.  Above, Brendan was the narrator for one of the plays.

Brendan, in his self-made narrator costume.

Brendan enjoyed soccer this spring, and Brad co-coached...so they BOTH learned a bit about soccer.

Brad and Brendan, protecting their goal during the parent/kid game day.

Brad decided to teach Emily how to climb the ladder to get into Brendan's top bunk.  The next day I heard a lot of giggling, and when I went to investigate, I was met with Megan and Emily hiding out in Brendan's bunk.  Thanks, Brad!

Brendan's last day of kindergarten.

We made snickerdoodles and oatmeal chocolate chip cookies as a thank you for Brendan's teachers and bus driver.  Above, Brendan's waiting at the end of our driveway for his last bus ride to school as a kindergartener.

As promised, I brought Subway to Brendan for his lunch on his last day.  Above, he's goofing with his two best buddies Mason and Andrew.  I tell you, you couldn't pay me enough to be manning the lunchroom that day...all of the kids were out of their minds with excitement.  I think I heard the lunchroom monitor say, "Sit down." and "Quiet!" about a hundred times each in the few minutes I was there.

And after dropping off Brendan's lunch, we enjoyed a quick picnic at the park.  We ate and then played at the playground.  Above, Emily conquered the big slide...

...and Megan demonstrated her dangling skills...

...not to be outdone by Emily, who also showed off her dangling skills.

Bedtime books. (Emily's sporting the 80's hair!)

Brendan rocking his "baby".

Gene and Mary (Brad's parents)

A very tired Megan...

...and a very tired Emily!

A beautiful sunset behind our house.

Brad and his mini-me, ready for some softball.

Another beautiful sky.

We found a baby bird under one of our trees and we watched it for about an hour.  When we came back after supper it was gone (hopefully picked up by it's mama and not one of the stray cats that occasionally parole our yard.)
