Easter with the Koosmann's/Nelson's
We celebrated Easter on the Koosmann side a little early this year, as the yearly rotations meant that we were all at the other side of the family. Jill, Chuck, and the kids spent a few days at Gene and Mary's for spring break and I brought the kids over and we celebrated there. The kids had a great time playing together and hunting for eggs.
Brendan, dressed in a t-shirt of Grandma's (since I forgot one), dyeing his first egg.
The whole egg-dyeing gang. (l->clockwise: Jill, Charlie (hidden by Marci's head), Mary, Megan, Chuck, Alyssa, Brendan, Marci)
Megan wasn't too interested in dyeing eggs, but she sure liked the plastic bag she found.
Charlie with a crinkle-nosed smile.
Marci holding her egg-dye cup.
Alyssa dyeing an egg.
Grandpa helped the Easter Bunny hide eggs outside, and each kid got a colored basket and had to find the corresponding eggs. Charlie and Brendan each needed a little help (and Brendan was much more interested in driving the Gator when he saw it), but each kid found all of their 7 eggs.
Cracking into the eggs to see what they hold!
Marci and Brendan playing with the Gator.
Brendan watching his golf shot. When he slows down a little he can hit that sucker hard!
Brendan perfecting his golf swing.
Brendan got a light-up, singing microphone in his Easter basket. (Yes, it's Hannah Montana, but all his knows is that it lights up colors and plays music. Alyssa had gotten one on an earlier trip to Madison and Brendan had just loved it, so he got his own for Easter. How is that Easter Bunny so smart?)
Alyssa, Marci and Charlie got The Princess and the Frog as a gift from the Easter Bunny, so we plopped all the kids (big and small!) down to watch it. Upon sitting still for more than a couple minutes, Brendan fell fast asleep, and he cuddled with Alyssa for most of the movie.
During a golf cart ride out in the open plot next to Gene and Mary's house, the Nelson's found a garter snake. Jill picked it up and they brought it back to the house to look at for awhile. The kids were quite interested in it, and of course Marci (who is quite fearless) was the one to step up and be the first to pick it up.
Brendan liked the snake most from the security of someone's arms. He wasn't too fond of it near him (I swear that's not my doing...I tried to tell him the snakes are neat and if you leave them alone they'll leave you alone. He didn't really buy it.)
Alyssa was also quick to pick up the snake and show it off. She tried to get Brendan interested in it, but he was having none of it and would yell if she came too close with it.
Brendan was much more interested in the Gator and he rode around in it as much as he could. Looks like this will be the last summer for him...he's already getting kinda big for it.
Alyssa drove Chuck and the kids around in the golf cart.
